Once you buy your printer, you might be tempted to get it out of the box, and start using it right away, however – resist the urge for not. The first thing you would want to do is insert the microSD card into the printer. This will allow you to store files that will either need to be printed, or on hold to be printed later. One you place the printer where it will go, you would want to load the printer. This will mean using ink bottles into the tanks for ink jets, and loading toner cartridges for laser printers. The A Series will have 1 paper tray, and the P series will have 2 paper trays. Both supports a priority feeder tray. If you have a printer.xml file from Senitrus, insert it into your USB-C Thumb drive on the front USB port. This will make setup much quicker, and easier. The printer notify you when configured. If you have a Senitrus computer with the same Senitrus ID, then you would see the printer on the left edge of the screen.
If you don’t have a Senitrus ID, you can acquire printer drivers for Linux, MacOS, and Windows 11. Your features will be somewhat crippled. You won’t be able to get email notification if there is a problem. You will also only use the most basic of features. Without your Senitrus ID, you would have to manually enter your wifi? credentials or use the USB-C to ethernet adapter. You also will not have an email to print address. Some people may not find that useful, but you will still not have it. On the professional series, you will not have fax/voicemail capabilities. You will also not get any system issues such as low toner. You will see the status by selecting status.
Once the printer is added into your circle, you would need to configure it. Since the printer connected to your circle, you would be the administrator of the printer. Once that happens, the printer will try to identify the paper types that are in the printer. If it has questions, it will ask you about the type of paper. This will only happen when there are 2+ options (such as 8.5×11 paper or photo paper). You would then configure anything unique to the printer. You would also want to setup an email? address to notify you of any important notices such as low ink/toner. If you wish to setup email to print, you would do this now. will request your UID, and Senitrus will assign a 18 digit number for your printer’s ID. The rest of the address will be @mfc.senitrus.com. You would also see the files that the printer can print through this method. You can then decide to let the printer print automatically, or print with permission. Print with permission requires you to view and print the files it has collected. You can also add Shares of your printer, so someone else with a Senitrus ID will be able to use your printer when they visit. Any other configurations will also be done. Once you are satisfy with the changes, you would select the Apply button, and your printer will reboot. If you wish to enter the printer again, you would need to log in through the printer icon in your desktop or Senitrus Manager program. You can also use the printer’s IP address if you wish to configure using a web browser.
If you chosen to print with permissions, you would need to have the microSD card in the printer. You will see an email directory for email to print (if setup), and Fax for eFax service (if setup). You would also see a vm folder for voicemail (if setup). Your printer’s microSD card will hold all of the files that you might regularly print. For example, you might have a pictures directory with coloring pages for children to print out, and color with. A great feature if you have children. You can view and manage your printer through the Printer icon on your Senitrus device, or through the Senitrus Manager on another OS.
If you have Senitrus devices, then you can do everything from the file manager. Your printer will simply be a device on your computer, or handheld. Assuming you own or have share rights with the printer, you would be able to open the printer icon, and manage it if you have permission. Any folder you don’t have access to, you simply will not see it.
